Spanish is the main language spoken in Mexico and is relatively easy to learn. You will find Mexicans friendly and eager to help you with the language. By immersing yourself in the country, culture and language, your Spanish skills are bound to improve.

Experience Mexico offers you the opportunity to go to Mexico and stay in a Mexican town or city and combine Spanish lessons with living in a very Mexican city with few foreigners.

We offer two locations for Spanish lessons, and your location will depend on how long you are looking to spend studying in Mexico. We offer a 10 month course in the beautiful city of Tepic or shorter courses in the gorgeous coastal town of La Peñita de Jaltemba.

La Peñita is a small Mexican town with a number of small Mexican shops as well as a small weekly market.

Here we offer 3 hours of Spanish lessons a day Monday to Friday. You are then left with the rest of the day to practise your Spanish and if you wish we can also arrange for you to volunteer in one of the local schools for a couple of hours a day to teach English.

Depending on other students, the lessons can be from the very basic to the more complex depending on your previous knowledge of Spanish.

To give you an indication of costs the all inclusive price for 3 months learning Spanish in La Peñita is £4,300.
As usual costs include flight, travel insurance, accommodation, food allowance and support and advice both in the UK and from our Mexican representative during your time in Mexico.

For those of you wishing to spend a longer period in Mexico studying Spanish we offer a 10 month course in the beautiful city of Tepic.

Tepic is located not far in land from the Pacific coast , about 3 hours north of Puerto Vallarta and is the Capital of the State of Nayarit. The city has a population of approximately 450,000 and is one of the cheapest state capitals in Mexico.

Just outside Tepic there is the beautiful Lagoon Santa Maria and the village of Santa Maria del Oro where meteorites are fabled to have landed and can be seen. It is also easy to travel to fantastic cities such as Mazatlan and Guadalajara from Tepic.

Students will be placed either by themselves or in a group of up to 10 people, demanding on the number of applications.

Accommodation will be either living with a Mexican family or in a rented house, depending on the number of students.

Term at the school starts in September and ends in late June. Ideally, students should be able to commit for 6 months or longer in order to gain enough experience of and practice in the Spanish language. However, it is up to you when you wish to start this project and for how long.

Preferred project dates:

• The Spanish lessons run from mid September to early July.
